چکیده

The formulation of constitutive equation (model) is essential in order to simulate or predict the behavior of viscoelastic material in many complicated industrial flow processes. The generation of such model is tedious and time-consuming operation. The techniques of artificial intelligence (AI) have proven to be amenable to solving rheological problems. Several subsystems of these types have been built. They are the viscometric flow analyzer [20, 21], static test analyzer [7, 8, 9, 10, 11] and dynamic test analyzer [22,23]. However, these subsystems are rather incompatible to each other and segregated. In this paper, we discuss how these subsystems can be integrated in an architecture whereby the communications between them can be controlled by a case-based system. We describe the problems commonly encountered during the experiment, the data analysis and the formulation of constitutive equation. It is then shown how the problems and solutions are presented as a case. A technique so-called model-guided repair is used for adaptation purpose in the case-based system. A schematic diagram of the architecture of the hybrid system is given in the final section.

Forced Convection Heat Transfer of Giesekus Viscoelastic Fluid in Concentric Annulus with both Cylinders Rotation

A theoretical solution is presented for the forced convection heat transfer of a viscoelastic fluid obeying the Giesekus constitutive equation in a concentric annulus under steady state, laminar, and purely tangential flow. A relative rotational motion exists between the inner and the outer cylinders, which induces the flow. A constant temperature was set in both cylinders, in this study. The f...

Parametric study of a viscoelastic RANS turbulence model in the fully developed channel flow

One of the newest of viscoelastic RANS turbulence models for drag reducing channel flow with polymer additives is studied in different flow and rheological properties. In this model, finitely extensible nonlinear elastic-Peterlin (FENE-P) constitutive model is used to describe the viscoelastic effect of polymer solution and turbulence model is developed in the k-ϵ-(ν^2 ) ̅-f framework. The geome...

A General Boundary Element Formulation for The Analysis of Viscoelastic Problems

The analysis of viscoelastic materials is one of the most important subjects in engineering structures. Several works have been so far made for the integral equation methods to viscoelastic problems. From the basic assumptions of viscoelastic constitutive equations and weighted residual techniques, a simple but effective Boundary Element (BE) formulation is developed for the Kelvin viscoelastic...

In this paper, a new viscoelastic size-depended model developed based on a modified couple stress theory and the for nonlinear viscoelastic material in order to vibration analysis of a viscoelastic nanoplate. The material of the nanoplate is assumed to obey the Leaderman nonlinear constitutive relation and the von Kármán plate theory is employed to model the system. The viscous parts of the clas...

Three Dimensional Laminar Convection Flow of Radiating Gas over a Backward Facing Step in a Duct

In this study, three-dimensional simulations are presented for laminar forced convection flow of a radiating gas over a backward-facing step in rectangular duct. The fluid is treated as a gray, absorbing, emitting and scattering medium. The three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system is used to solve the governing equations which are conservations of mass, momentum and energy. These equations...
